In other news, HBO's Rome recspage=up. Due South recs page=up (though I will have to look up old links and add more in a bit).
Chapter Twenty-Two= Done. Awaiting last moment thoughts/revisions.
Oh yes. I have no life. None at all.
My nail polish is chipped.

Rene slapping Ben across the face and the bit about "that" being the only blood to touch him that day.
James wearing the RED coat.
Rene begging, SAYING please.
And this. I said that one line couldn't a piece make.
I was so wrong.
He turned his head so that his lips would brush against the softly calloused palm, his mouth curving to taste gunmetal, to know the hand empty.
This is the most perfect sentence in the whole frigging epic. I am speechless. I felt woefully inept and stupid and why am I still typing because I will only sound lame and trite and inarticulate.
I am totally in awe at the brilliance of this. AWE!

however, you should know, your love of ch. 8 (or is it 9? the desk...) made me go back and take another look at it, which for some reason i felt was necessary for 22 to go on.
so thanks.

It's chapter 9, and, sure, the desk figures large in that chapter but it's that COAT again (!) that makes the chapter. It converts that chapter from some of the hottest bit of written frottage to a forgiveness, a declaration as evidenced by James dressing Rene in the red coat. Like I've said before: at THAT point I knew that James loved Rene.
You know, I knew that was how that chapter was going to play out because I couldn't see it happening any other way. I knew that you would damn neither one of them, but I was curious how you were going to pull it off. Man, oh man, you did it, girlfriend.

thanks for the rec.

I have to say again: this is one HELL of a piece of writing. Have you thought about getting it published. Like for real? Oh there are a couple of typos in the middle, in the same paragraph. Minor shit like a "he" when it should be a "the" and then a second one in the next sentence practically.
