Yup! Totally forgot about it.

Finally realized what a reviewer meant by the ending taking twice as long.

Not just the writing, though that could use some trimming. But wow the first ones are all action and the ending ones are all this...feeling. And repetition. Tons of it. I blame Rene for that.

Actually, that scene to me is pivotal! Don't take it out! Because it's all about James complete and utter capitulation and Rene's determination to make him see that. I've read it in bits and pieces over the course of a couple of years, so my memory might be fuzzy, but I don't see the repetition so much. I think this story is, despite the hottest secks EVAH!, a psychological piece from beginning to end. So for me, the action is usually a manifestation of some psychological war between them. I would say the middle is about James coming to terms with his love for Rene and the end is Rene coming to terms with his love for James. Not repetitious in the least. And if you take out Chapter 11, then the chapter where James gives Rene a bath makes NO sense. Because, yes, tables turned, French boy!

No I'm not taking it out. I just meant that the beginning chapters don't really need much trimming, but the last ones do. I think there was so much time in between writing them that I forgot when I had already established stuff.

Honestly, so far I'd say I've trimmed maybe a page, which just about balances with the stuff I've added about Etienne.
