Ever read a story for a fandom that isn't just bad (or just not good) but there's actually just something disturbing about the way in which it was written, yet you know you can't say anything without creating a shit storm of wank???

This is why I should only read the grown up fandoms, aka fandoms where most of the writers/readers are...not fourteen.

okay I hope she was fourteen.

Anyway.....

See what you mean. It sounds like a 15-year old wrote it. Harluquin-ish but with butt sex. The requisite rejection and then debasement then saviour crap. No, I wouldn't say anything. There is no point. The one thing that stands out (and you could actually say something to her about this aspect of her piece) is that I knew it was CSI because of the names, but I had NO idea it was these characters because there was nothing in that piece that defined them as those characters. Like your CSI stories (having only seen the show on my way to the john and caught the television) is that I KNOW these characters by the end of the piece. I don't need to see the show to get the dynamic. What makes this utter wish fulfillment crap is the inherent ME in both characters. Ugh.

Maybe she'll write a sequel where Greg (who is so clearly her...I mean...a girl...) will get pregnant and have ass-babies.

You know though, even in a 70's Harlequin the guys would have at least *a moment* of tenderness.

I ought to do one of those Harlequin AU challenges someday. It might be fun. Am also considering Yuletide this year. But hmmmm
