I think most women define like "true hollywood forever after" kind of loves tht way. Because what love isn't going to last without a chance for reality to dampen it a bit?

I mean, look at the success of the Thornbirds, Titanic and the Notebook.

There is very much a bittersweet feeling about IOS. Even if you end it on a somewhat happy note, like St. Cyr gets offed by James, and he and Rene hop on the ship and sail back to where it's WARM ( you need a nice final sex scene in the cabin to compliment their first "meeting), I will never be quite sure that this relationship will last. Because of Rene and his mondo issues. The potential for relationship disaster is never far away from the two of them. It's such great stuff for that reason.

A HELL OF A LOT BETTER THAN TITANIC OR THE NOTEBOOK.

However, I do have a soft spot in my heart for the Thornbirds. I think it's the Catholic thing, which I do NOT want to examine any closer than that!

I think the Notebook was made for the sole purpose of getting Ryan Gosling shirtless in the rain. And I have no objections to that.

I think they stay together, Rene and Jamie-boy...but there would be some issues, fights, drama along the way, yeah.

Rispa, we both know that Rene is NOT going to let James's goods ANYWHERE near anything remotely female. Insert insane jealous rage here. And since he seems to have major squicks in that area, I do not see either "bastard" carrying on their respective "royal" lines.
