haha i was doing Rene's internal monologue to Pooky a minute ago.

I said it should have been James=popular and Rene=geek and then she said, Rene probably thinks James is popular anyway, in his crazy head. So I said...

you have to mock somebody who doesn't understand the concept of teasing in any way. "you will not mock!" just makes you want to torment him all the more.

i wish i could draw well. i would totally draw Rene with cat features in that creepy anime style, Meko?, or maybe just a monkey.

Rene would be one of those sort of people that others would constantly accuse of not having a sense of humor. Which he doesn't. Which he would naturally see as a character flaw in others. Since he doesn't understand it in the least.

I do love how when James gets all "Puck-ish" and teasing with Rene, *Rene* is completely clueless and is insulted by it, thinks James is making fun of him when in reality it's James flirting and indulging in some innocent (or not so innocent) foreplay.

While I admit it amuses me, it also is completely tragic (which James understands so well). Can you imagine the sort of childhood where your humor has been figuratively (and perhaps literally) beaten out of you?

Alas, that is the reason that the latest chapter has halted...I really, really don't want to dwell on that and must. Sigh.
