But who can still be proud that such a fucking moron (and I mean that by it's actual definition) is our President. I just...I...words cannot express my fury and hatred at the thought of his bumbling. And the stupid ass he appointed to head of FEMA...can we recall that dickhead and then (to get all midwest on it) tar and feather him?

Apparently there is explicit language naming the President directly responsible for disaster response and relief in this country. Not that I really expect him to be held accountable, but they ought to drop his worthless cowardly stupid ass off in the middle of the chaos and toxic water that was once New Orleans and watch him get raped and torn to pieces by angry gangbangers and drug addicts. Then they can all "look for food" in his pockets.

He is possibly the worst human being ever to be in charge of anything. He simply doesn't give a fuck about anyone, does he?

SO. ANGRY.

SO. VERY. ANGRY.

Word. There's some good articles on http://www.counterpunch.org talking about the situation. It's completely unfathomable. But, oh, the President shouldn't be blamed! Bullshit.

FEMA has been known to be corrupt/incompetant though.

I mean there's chaos down there, sure, but they're trying to make it seem like it's not that the gov is incompetant, but that the poor response was due to the black people not behaving. Apparently they are showing the same looting footage over and over and blowing that out of proportion when other reports from actual survivors are saying that many, many people left behind did their best to help others. It's come down to basic racism/class discrimination on the govn't's part. It's not OK for Kayne West to express those feelings, but it's ok for the media to say that New Orleans is like Mogadishu now.

they're trying to make him shut up now, aren't they? black rappers reach more white americans than the president probably does.

What I pray is that this, this catastrophe at least, will be the one that propels him out of office.

I would just like to say, though I would hope it was obvious, that I never ever even remotely thought about voting for that ass. I once was kicked off a mailing list for daring to say that it was Un-American to...i don't know..*lock people up without trial*.

Did you read the article about Barbara Bush in the Superdome, saying the conditions were good if you were already poor?

No, but I heard about it. My god, could these people be *more* out of touch?
