So...X-Men Origins....

yeah....

(Not that this will stop anyone from watching it, but) Waste of money.

Luckily I saw it for free.

And I say that as a fan of movies, and as a huge HUGE childhood fan of X-men and Wolvie (and Gambit...my god...they picked the least sexy Gambit ever).

Though I admit to one tiny little squee at the end. Deadpool!

I don't know, I wasn't that disappointed. I am easily swayed by special effects and manflesh, though. And I kind of loved Gambit >.>

Also! Yes! Deadpool! ::SQUEES::

Okay...Gambit could at least have had an accent. An accent? How hard was that? Even Dennis Quaid had one (a bad one) in the Big Easy.

Well, yeah, I'll have to agree on that. But still. Hot. XD

How much would one voice coach cost in that budget, really?

Um

Yup, crying!Wolverine, seriously?:)

I think the final straw for me the way Silverfox dies at the end. I mean, Stryker kidnaps her sister for experiments and whatever, forces her to seduce somebody (Prostitution!), takes it all away and tortures the man she claims to love.
And when she's dying, she sends the guy to walk until bloody?? How about 'save me'? At the very least she should have killed him to protect her sister and those other children. Moron.

See, this is why I haven't reviewed the movie yet.:D I'm still ranty.:D

...Ok, so I got a huge kick out of seeing teen!Emma lead teen!Scott to freedom.
:)

Re: Um

Was that Emma? I thought it was Diamond Lil from Alpha Flight.

Emma would have been awesome!

(And there is a limit to how many times a superhero can look to the sky and scream out NOOOOOOOO! in one movie. Three was pushing it.)

Re: Um

If they meant her to be Diamond Lil they fucked up.:)

...had to go check, imdb says Emma. Still kinda wth? with Silverfox but that little thing with Scott really made my day. I can live with that.
(The 'diamond' mutation however was less cool than it could have been. Bah.)

The NOOOOOOOOOO! with 'dead' Silverfox cracked me up completely.:) So over the top, so unnecessary, so funny.

OH MY GOD

YOU DID NOT JUST CALL TIM RIGGINS UNSEXY

OH MY GOD

From: [identity profile] rispacooper.livejournal.com

It is quite possible that he is sexy.

Just not as Gambit.

As someone who spent their formative years fixated on Gambit's extreme hotness...he just failed to deliver.

But then my expectations were high.

The word dreamy was invented to describe Tim Riggins. Also stupid.

Sucks you were disappointed! :-(

Tim Riggins is the actor's character on Friday Night Lights. And he suffers from a bad casde of pretty but stupid. And he is completely awesome.

My thoughts exactly *_____*

Personally, I would watch the movie again just for him. But I didn't spend my formative years fixated on Gambit's hotness (well, not much, at least), so...

Yeah, like, if they did a She-Ra movie they would need to do some pretty SPECTACULAR casting to get me interested.

Then again Kitsch does have some SPECTACULAR abs.

From: [identity profile] rispacooper.livejournal.com

I can't imagine any current actresses playing anyone from She-Ra...

But the He-Man movie was so bad I doubt they'd try.

I think it would have to be someone like a young Cate Blanchett. Someone statuesque with a really commanding presence, and you're right, there ain't many of them around.

I have no knowledge of X-Men beyond the first two movies and I picked to go see this one because it was the one film that seemed worthy when I wanted to explore the cinema in Antwerp yesterday. I was lured in by Hugh Jackman's muscles and massive sideburns. I was not disappointed because I got what I wanted and more *grins* (nice arse, mr. J.;)
Sorry to hear you as a longtime fan were not happy about it. I loved the introduction of the two brothers (all the warscenes) and the chemistry between Liev and Hugh. Of course there were some lame bits and pieces, but all in all I was satisfied by the dialogue, design, special effects and plot.

From: [identity profile] rispacooper.livejournal.com

Well Hugh plays a pretty watered down Wolvie...which I accepted for the first film..it's a comic book movie, they rarely go dark or realistic. But now they're just watering down everyone and it's ridiculous.

I say that as a fan.

Liev Schrieber can be scary (who knew?) But I am not afraid of Hugh Jackman.
