I have a serious sex in inappropriate places kink. Especially standing room only inappropriate places. Like closets. In fact it's pretty much a guarantee I'm going to write about it at some point, or seek out fandoms where it's common. (Like CSI, with all the in the Lab/Lab storage closet/Lab bathroom stall sexin' going on).

Though speaking of CSI, last night's not only featured Lady Heather (who is so much a better match for Grissom if only they'd stick to it instead of his totally wrong father/daughter Sara thing, ew) but also Nick *again* uncomfortable with the kink *and* a moment where he got mad at Greg for flirting/talking kink with the new girl.

If only there were more moments like those. But they seem few and far between these days.

In other news I reread Jane Eyre for the hundredth time the other day (well okay, the Thornfield chapters only) and realized that Charlotte Bronte was a size queen. Then I watched the movie, "Gilda" for the first time. And yeah, that moment had no point, but it came awfully close to pure AWESOME with a rather excellent sexy love hate jealousy kink story...then ruined it with some stupid Nazi tungsten cartel or whatever. Rita Hayworth *is* sex in that movie. And I want her hair.

With the upcoming move and all the new job---oh, did I mention that we have to move again because Mr. C got a job offer--I just don't have time.

So, there is definitely potential there...esp. since the kids and I will have to stay here until he gets settled in and the kids go on winter break and those nights will be lonely once the kids go to bed....

In Jane Eyre, her romantic interests, Mr. Rochester, isn't supposed to be super big (in stature) but Jane is supposed to be tiny, and there's all these descriptions and moments where she's focus on how he picks her up or holds her small fingers and just generally makes him seem larger.

It's very Rene of her, really.


Dude, Johnny's weird love of Gilda's husband...what was going on with that? I wouldn't have minded an interval of m/m there at all.

If the show kept up with its Nick/Greg moments, I'd write more fic for them. Sadly, they keep trying to make Nick straight. Bleh.

Gilda: the m/m is practically happening on the screen. You constantly hope that there's going to be a revelation or something to explain what's going on.

totally read Barbara Cartland too. And the Scarlett Pimpernel, like a thousand times...

I remember the first time I saw this noir classic as a teenager and thinking how wonderful it was that a film had been made in the mid-1940's that actually featured a plot about two gay men and their diva girlfriend.

Years later, I read an interview with Glenn Ford in which he said that everyone who worked on the film knew there was an obvious gay storyline, but that due to the film being made in the 1940's, they had to be very subtle in their interpretations of gay lovers on-screen. It's still obviously clear that George Macready is Glenn Ford's rich and not-so-charming sugar daddy. Both leading men wear so much product in their hair and are so well dressed and manicured, you just KNOW they can't be straight!

It doesn't take a genious to figure out that the two leading men are more than just good buddies. When Mundson first presents his new wife Gilda to his male lover Johnny, he says "Quite a surprise to hear a woman's voice in my house, isn't it Johnny?" Well, you can tell by the look on Johnny's (Glenn Ford) face just how surprised he is!

Charlotte Bronte herself was extremely tiny and I'm wondering if Jane Eyre isn't a little Mary Sue-ish.

Gilda is so awesome. I remember seeing that first when I was about 10 and even then I was blown away!

Well Jane Eyre was clearly her fantasy. Which is interesting...since Rochester is so fucked up.

I'm sure Charlotte would deny that to her dying day though.
