Um hey, anyone out there know about the prevelance of circumcision in Scandinavian countries...uh...present day?

I'm guessing not so much, but these are the details I need to know before I can continue...

ETA: "Australia circumcises 15 percent of its male population, Canada 48 percent and the U.K. about 24 percent. Circumcision is uncommon in Asia, South America, Central America and most of Europe, according to the American Academy of Pediatrics. Norway, Denmark and Sweden, have very low circumcision rates"

Also: if I were a vidder, I'd make a *gen* vid for SGA set to "I've Been Everywhere Man" by Johnny Cash. How cute would that be?

As a Finn, I can tell you-

EW, god no. We NEVER do that. I've never slept with a guy from my homeland, Sweden or Russia that's cut, and none of my male family members are.

In fact, across most of Europe, you will find cocks happily intact and unscarred.

*shudder*

Yeah 'merica is apparently big on the genital mutiliation, what can I tell you? We also dye our cheese orange. It's a mystery.

Hello, The Netherlands here. For the record: not a common practice here either.

Ok this is good for reasons such as say if I were wasting my time writing an AU CSI fic and Greg were from Norway...

if I were doing that

I always imagined Greg to be whole. Just sayin'. So, if you were writing some kind of CSI-fic, that would be my pov;)

Swede here, and no. It never happens apart from for religious reasons, and we don't have that many jews so, yes, rare. people are debating legislating an age limit on circumcision so that parents can't have it done on children; you've gotta choose for yourself. I hope it passes.

It is a little bizarre.

I don't even like it when parents get their young baby daughters ears pierced. Let them decide later, honestly.
