Does she really? That makes sense. Art is always a process, and there's always room for improvement. But then, this woman played out the best character she invented to the point where everyone was sick of him. Her "erotic" stories don't even remotely compare to most of the fanfiction I've read (and one time I read a story where the girl described it as "a stick going in and out of her" and gross as that was it was still a stronger image than Anne Rice ever evoked). It's like the repetiveness of the Marquis De Sade mixed with cheesy pseudo-romantic euphemisms of a Harlequin.
And her attitude about fanfiction bugs me. I think she's afraid she'll be shown up by her own fans---as well she should be.
