List of stories I've written in 2007: Links all going to my Greatest Journal in case LJ strikes me ded.

2007 was the year I tried some new fandoms, specifically Due South and CSI (Vegas). It's also the year I finished (yay!!) Ideas of Sin, my original piratey mini-epic. (Epic? How long does an epic make?)

March- Boom! (or Blame the Mountie) for Due South
March- One or Two Smarties for Due South
April- Don't Tell Me Turtles Don't Laugh for Due South (aka, The Uniform Kink)
May- If That's Your Boyfriend (He Wasn't Last Night) for CSI
May- Ain't It Funny (Is This Less Than Perfect Circumstance) for CSI
June- Scratch, Scratch (For the Stop_Drop_Porn challenge) for Due South
July- Submission Games for CSI link to Part One
July- Pet Me Poppa for Due South
August- Date With the Night (for the ds_fang_or_fur fest) for Due South
August- Wild Thing (for the ds_fang_or_fur fest) for Due South link to Part One
September- Shelter and IOS/Pirates of the Caribbean crack crossover sequel
October- Moonlight and Coffee (for the ds_fang_or_fur fest) for Due South
October- Chapter 23 of Ideas of Sin (!!!)
December- Ain't Misbehavin' for Due South
December--As yet super seekret Yuletide story

My best story of this year:
Date With the Night is probably the best fanfic, writing-wise, I've done this year. Fraser is sort of Victorian anyway but it was fun trying to set a Gothic mood, and then I basically just ripped off Dracula. I wouldn't say line for line, but I deliberately wanted the Fraser/Ray blood scene to be like those erotic descriptions from Stoker. Also, I tend to give stories terrible titles, but this one really just seems perfect even now.

My favourite story of this year: I simply cannot say. (Though judging from how much I'm talking about it, possibly the Uniform Kink, Don't Tell Me Turtles Don't Laugh, which is all [profile] pir8ancier's fault)

Most fun story to write: Pet Me Poppa.
Took me half a day and made me laugh the whole time. Due South almost crack-fic, involving a missing Ray and an orange kitten. It was impossible even for me to angst and flail for this one.

Story with the single sexiest moment:
Oh my God. I have to choose. Um, perhaps in Don't Tell Me Turtles Don't Laugh, when Ray is *ahem* jerking off in the Uniform and so turned on by pretending to be Fraser he licks the mirror. Huh. Date With the Night, the first moment with the teeth and the blood and...oh my. Or possibly the "Beg" moment in Submission Games, Part Two, or the hand-licking moment in Scratch, Scratch. (I write a lot of smexin'). But then I think, oh yeah, the end of DTMTDT when Ray is... Well anyway, the end of that is just sexy to me. Smexy Ray. So since that story has two nominations, Don't Tell Me Turtles Don't Laugh wins this one.

Most "Holy crap, that's wrong, even for you" story:
Wild Thing. Hands down. I came *this* close to full on werewolf smex against that wall, and only thoughts of Furries stopped me. And barely.

Story that shifted my own perceptions of the characters:
One or Two Smarties. That story was a bitch to write, because Ray started out as one thing in my basic plot idea and then as Fraser studies him in the story, I realized he was something else entirely. (But runner up to Submission Games, because Nick took over the story and made me realize just how kinky he is).

Hardest story to write:
My Yuletide Story. But, as I can't talk about that, Don't Tell Me... again. I sweated buckets over that story. I angsted, I fretted. I for some reason just felt I had to plumb the psychological depths of Ray Kowalski instead of just writing the pr0n. God help me.

Biggest Disappointment:
Shelter. It's just not long enough for me to fully explore the WEIRD that is Etienne Saint-Cyr.

Biggest Surprise:
Submission Games turning into the huge, epic kink-fest that it is. The writing isn't my best, but for exploring characters and having pr0n at the same time it was really very interesting. Plus, that first spank surprised me as much as it shocked poor Greggo. And it was hot too. Wow. Revelations all over the place.

Most Unintentionally Telling Story:
Chapter 23, like all things Rene Villon. Anything smutty. But really, um, actually, Ain't Misbehavin'...wow. I just got that actually. That is me pissed off and hurt and treating myself like crap as though that punishes anybody else and...wow. Oops. Damn meme.

And the others... [discussion of any fics you didn't mention in the meme, but would still like to address]
Boom! and Ain't Misbehavin', I'm proud of both of them but I almost feel like they aren't mine. They both simply...occurred. Maybe I was writing them subconsciously for a while, I don't know. But they both simply demanded to be written and were done in a day. I just...if I don't plot and worry about every single angle, I just feel weird about it.
:P

If people want me to remark on Ideas of Sin, I can, but I focused mainly on fanfiction for this.

You were a writing fool, this year, honey! All good (coffee filter foreplay, yay!), some truly great. It's mornings like this when I thank the intranets gods because I can read your writing and shake my fist at Rene Villon for being so Rene-ish, and James for being so clueless, and RayK for being, well, RayK, and Fraser for being so noble, and Etienne for being so French! Of course commentary on IOS is now mandatory

Yeah I wrote (and somehow, less) than I thought I did.
I feel weird doing commentary, I'm never sure what to say. But ok. I shall think up some IOS goodness.
