A close friend of mine is...having a rough time...with some personal drama. And while it affected me in the sense that she's my friend and I hurt for her, it didn't affect me. Or at least I didn't think it did. But I guess it touched me on a deeper level than I wanted to admit. Because I've been acting strange all day and was actually ordered by friends and loved ones to drink today, in lieu of any other depressant to calm me the fuck down.

Sometimes I really am Rene's hyper little ass.

Um...so...yeah. Writing news, I have resdiscovered writing on paper *paper*. Blame Kittie. Realized why CSI porny epic became epic in the first place. (Uh, I have this habit of starting out with a "simple" idea, without thinking out just what emotions are involved for the characters. But the truth comes out, as it usually does, post-ejaculate, and then it's clean up time).

I am tired. Will start typing up CSI porn ending tomorrow maybe.

Jokes about Harry Potter fans on Best Week Ever were pretty funny this week. (What's more annoying, Spoilers? Or people who live in fear of Spoilers?).

No, I've never read Robert Jordan. The first 7 books are good though? Must give them a while.

The first two vampire books of Anne Rice's were really well done, especially Lestat. Oh, he's a bad boy and he's written as a bad boy. She achieved that perfect balance of writing a captivating and sympathetic bastard. That's very, very hard to do (you do it, actually!). Now vampires are sort of the new black, so if you read the books today they probably woudln't seem groundbreaking. But at the time? Just spellbinding. Even more so when you realize that she wrote these in the aftermath of her kid dying of leukemia. Wow.

I actually really liked the movie. Poor wounded little bitch Lestat. Kittie read the books though, she used to whine about Louis' never ending angst. heh. Maybe it's just the pressure and hype of an unexplectedly popular series. They keep going with it even though they ought to stop. I joke about writing Etienne stories, but really it would have to be something really compelling to make me even try.

The first book was from Louis POV, and yeah, whiny little bitch just about covers it. I couldn't WAIT until Lestat spoke. And then she came out with a book from Lestat's POV. I was in heaven.

I'm certainly not the person to ask about writing a series. I can't even seem to finish the second!
