Why I don't Watch the News

Because I think TV reporters are basically all fame-hungry whores. Because they cover something as horrendous as the Virginia Tech shooting with the headline "Deadliest US Shooting Ever" like it's the best ever, the greatest ever (which it is for them, they just about creamed their jeans this morning I'm sure). Because they talk about the tragedy while running a ticker at the bottom with information about the health benefits of soy and how a truck carrying rabbits crashed and set thousands of rabbits loose, haha. Because national news agencies have descended upon the town's police chief and are getting upset that he won't confirm rumors about an ongoing investigation and accusing the man, who is clearly on the point of tears several times while talking, about seeming too dispassionate (because they are obviously so broken up themselves). And because they are already blaming the campus leadership for not warning people enough on a campus with at least 26,000 students and hundreds of buildings, which would be like trying to close down a city, like the Berkeley campus. The media won't even let people grieve and deal with the shock and then they accuse those close to the crime of not caring???


I fucking hate TV news.
