so...at the risk of seeming ageist...which is not the case so much as wishing to fit in as that does matter despite what people like to say...what is average age of this group, would you say?

have never attended convention in anyway...even a mini-one. am not sort of person to reject friendly offers...however, am not also person to make public apperances. unless drunk. *sips rum in piratefancier's honour*

Age-wise? No idea. Lin, who's more or less put the thing together is roughly around 40. Mel, who lives in Texas, I'm guessing in in her late 30s. Monkey, who's getting a Ph.D. in anthropology (studies sunken ships--HOW COOL IS THAT?) is coming from Florida, am guessing she's in her early 30s. I'm probably the oldest at 48. There's supposed to be roughly 28 people. I think some will be on the younger side, but Lin (in the interest of us not corrupting minors) insisted that anyone under age had to be accompanied by a parent. I imagine that vetted quite a few because how many people want to talk porn with their mother?

I'm using it as an excuse to have fun, drink up a storm, and get out of Lafayette for a weekend.

Seriously, the majority of these women are as funny as all hell. The only one I've officially met is Lin. We spent about 4 hours at the Peet's in Lafayette one afternoon, just gassing about writing, fanfiction, pirates, and talkling about committing lewds acts with Johnny Depp. She showed up in a pirate tri-corn. She's a hoot.
