1) Right now, what do you feel are the 1, 2 or 3 best stories you've written since becoming/admitting you're a fanfic writer? What was it about that/those stories that really made you proud, or thrilled you about them?


1. Covet for the Count of Monte Cristo. Not great by my standards now, but the first fanfic I even remotely attempted to take seriously. (I should put that in quotes I think, because I did obsess about my earlier fanfic, but I never thought of them as anything but fun...except for maybe that Epic That Dare Not Speak Its Name...shush, pooks). To "take seriously" in the sense of reading the book, watching the movie, trying to make this Fernand composite from both sources. Trying to actively make the villain likable, or at least understandable and yet keep him a villain, which, if I had ever done that before, I had never done it on purpose. But it was Guy *frakking* Pearce and that level of fucked-upness in his acting required some sort of action on my part. Plus, Pooky challenged me to do it and I wrote it in a day and a half--a record for me. First fic I ever got rec'd too. :)

2. Proof of Life; or, Taste the Humanity. New Battlestar Galactica. Because we wanted dirty bathroom sex and kinks I had never really attempted before (specifically, Gaeta's fixation on the blood). Because I took a character without much background at all and really tried to think about it. There were rumors at the time that Gaeta was a Cylon, and I found that really intriguing. Did he know, did he not? Did he feel guilt? Envy at the humans? Confusion? Curiosity? Some of all of that? I wanted a sense of that in the porn without actually answering the question. And because I kept making Gaeta reference Walt Whitman in really strange ways. Which amused me anyway.

Also, Lee is HAWT. And I enjoy the chance to use modern language occasionally.


3. Umm...and then either Part 4 of Moves and Motion, for POTC, or, weirdly, the crackfic crossover of IOS and POTC. Both were sort of challenges, and challenges I actually accept are usually because they are not something I've done before or just seem impossible. Part Four was for pir8fancier who wanted shaving kink. And though it didn't involve anything other than just regular old face shaving, so I don't know how kinky it was, I still wanted to convey the general intimicy of the moment. The incredibly personal, relaxed moment that Jack stole his way into, and how embarrassed Norry really was, and tempted. *squirm* I have this tendency to have characters having these really layered (though unrealistic, probably) conversations, saying a lot of things at once, and I wanted them to be doing that again, but have Norrington be naked and knowing it. The contrast is pretty fucking awesome. He's trying to keep his defenses up, but it's hard for him. And Jack knows it, and though Jack tries to take advantage of the weakness, naturally, he can't. Cuz he is also distracted by the nekkid Norry, and cuz Norry ain't the type to allow himself to be taken advantage of. Even if he is naked and wet and blushing under a pirate's gaze.

Which of course turns Jack on more. Which turns Norrington on more...and...and...*ahem*

But the Crackfic I am proud of because I had to impossible universes to mix and I had to imagine Norrington's fate, and what Norrington had become, and yet keep the story from becoming too sad. I got yet another of my layered conversations, which was a little too Victorian of me I suppose, to have people keep circling around the truth without actually saying it out loud, but which was *quite* challenging. I basically got to invent a new Norry. Which was most pleasing.

2) What Professional writer (that is, paid author) would you love to see write a fanfiction story? What ship or fandom? Tell me a little about it.

Um... I just read Bridget Jones' Diary 2, so I would like to see Helen Fielding write Sparrington. Twould amuse me greatly.

3) What show/cartoon/kid's book from your childhood would you be amused to see in fanfiction? Would you consider writing one for this early love?

4) Is there a fanfic of yours you'd like to see made into a Broadway show? Tell me about it!( "_____________: the Musical!"

Ooooh. I am gonna have to say Sparrington again.

5) Think about it--what could possibly be the WORST crossover out there? A story that Should Never Be Written? Hamtaro/V? Lost/Gilligan's Island? Come up with your most terrible pairing!
