I am definitely a person who needs touch and people and people to touch, but when I need to be alone...get out of my way.

Yeah I don't get people who never wanted/need to be alone. (I don't think my sister has ever been alone in her life.) I require a lot (A LOT) of time to regroup after a social interaction.

Though people are using that quote as evidence that Einstein was autistic. I dunno about that.

Supposedly he had quite the sense of humor, which rules out autism, you'd think.

Other people are just exhausting though. I'd imagine, with an IQ that high, you'd find other people incredibly taxing.

I can totally relate to that *g*.

I've been called autistic for not wanting to deal with others. People find it hard to believe it's by choice; they seem to be insulted when you tell them you choose not to play, so they put the blame back on the loner.

I think Einstein had a marvelous sense of humour. I just read an essay by Richard Dawkins in which he was mentioned. Every quote I hear from the guy is brilliant and/or funny.

Yeah I think he was just isolated, mentally, and got used to the isolation.
