In other reviews of the odd movie "This Girl's Life"...tis a movie about porn in which it takes the main character, a porn star, the whole movie to figure out that choosing to exploit yourself still makes you exploited. On the other hand...she had an amazingly positive attitude toward sex and female pleasure.

And then of course, there was Ioan flirting and laughing and slipping off her lacy panties to *graze some watercress*. HOT little bugger.

Here I am...having ended up on a weird shift and am now NOT working on a Saturday night. Weird. Don't quite know what to do. But I had the most fabulously exhausting day yesterday....I decided it was time I just have fun and spent money. I haven't been going out at all lately, and so had a bit to spend. I bought diamonds!!! yay! Small ones, on sale for Valentine's day, but clear and shiny and princess cut! Woo hoo! And I am gonna save up and trade them up for larger, clearer ones.

I am a firm believer in buying what makes you happy, and especially in women buying what makes them happy. I will buy my own jewels, thanks. No cheesy expectations of jewels for made up commercial holidays or as an apology for my man cheating on me or something. Nope, I buys my sparklies when I wants my sparklies.

Also bought brownie sundae at Ghiradelli and then cheapie earrings at Claires...(am not *made* of money after all) and nice dark sparklie Nars eye shadow from Sephora. I am pleased by ridiculous things. (has screwed up values).

Other news...innocent, stupid little coworker has decided to join the navy. sigh. He's gonna die. As my boss put it...he's nice and well meaning...he's going to get himself killed.

Though I couldn't help thinking...so gay. Especially with this guy.

You know, I love sparklies. That's my main femme weakness -- gemstones. The weird part is ... I don't wear them. I just like taking them out and looking at them from time to time. Wearing them feels odd, but I love to look at them.

I can't wait until "gemesis" technology advances to the point where good-sized laboratory diamonds are available. They can nake them now, but the business end of things has to catch up. I plan on getting a cheap rock for myself that'd make Cleopatra turn asparagus-green with envy.

Two of my prized possessions are an ENORMOUS genuine laboratory-grown sapphire, and a ruby. They are clear, perfect, and beautiful deep colors.

I think this is pretty reasonable -- the old "ignorance is bliss" thing. Most of life is pretty breezy if you don't stop and think about things, honestly. :-P

ahaha. it's all about the ice. I like to think of that scene in the film "Gigi" where the older courtesan displays her rocks and tries to teach Gigi to appreciate them. My birthstone is a topaz, and I loved it when she got insulted that there might have been a topaz in her jewels.

The lights hypnotize you? :) Do you wear jewelry in general?

Ah jewels. Like so many things in life...bigger is so much better, baby.

I wear the same three rings all the time, but that's it. I'm not really a jewelry type of person. I think it's pretty, and I love having it, but I like to look at it more, like art.
