There is a VERY GOOD fic that adresses that...in her 'verse, they met while Lassi was in college and then broke it off and they met up again in the first episode and she weaves this fantasic tale throughout season 1 using these small throwaway moments as significant events in the story. It's a good (and long as hell) read.
