New IOS Addy---Update

Turns out that Pooky and I strike again. All the old chapters have been up for weeks and weeks now, but she had some typos in the code on the first five chapters, and I never bothered to look at the rest of the chapters, which were fine, so just assumed it still wasn't up.

Um...so...yeah...all previously posted parts are again up and readable. And I am tapping dutifully away on the last bits.

Sorry. My bad.

well you know...i've been typing at the last bits for a while now. that's sort of my m.o. that last bit of sparrington was sitting on comp, minus the last few paragraphs, for months.

Your are NOT an ass. When I read your fiction I know EVERY word has been labored over. Nothing is superfluous. I admire that more than I can express, since I have this sort of breezy style that I excel at, but I don't really say a hell of a lot.

Methinks you're relunctant to part with Rene and James. I think I would be. I mean, I will be bawling like a loon when I read the last couple of chapters (?, am thinking there are at least two more--the final confrontation between James/pere/Rene/Etienne and an Epilogue, maybe three chapters) because I heart this story so much. I think Rene Villon is one of the most complex characters in any fiction I've read. I heart him to death and will be sad to see him end. I feel he is the tragic side of Jack Sparrow. The good man in the corsair.

i have been debating the epilogue, since i have no/only the vaguest notion as to what that might be. which is odd, for me.

and i really wish that etienne porn could go in somewhere. just for the hell of it.

Etienne porn is always a good idea, but I think at this point it would really detract from the denouement, which is the final confronatation between St. Cyr pere and fils and the English clerk. Because we know that James loves Rene. We know that Rene loves James, and we also know that the story cannot go forward until the son comes to terms (somehow) with the father's sin.

Actually, I could see some sort of crazy bat-shit insane internal monologue with St. Cyr mere. Where she achieves some peace. Where the son is finally recognized as the son. She is yet another tragic victim of le pere. That's dude evil arm was long.

Dear god, no. He'd be one of those perfectly awful parents who don't mean to royally fuck up their kids, but manage to do a major number all the same. He's far too damaged to breed.

I like that idea. You could do that from a lot of people's POV. Maybe even Mirena's. Or Deniau's! And get your Etienne porn in at the same time! Ooh la la. A two-fer. Porn and prose.

it's so tempting to work in the same universe, but i don't know that i want to get stuck in that sort of...hmmm. i just don't wanna end up like anne rice.

on the other hand. something did just occur to me for the ending as we were chatting. a small thing...but still...interesting.
