I am going to quit my job. Well one. Two if I could. Now I just need a new one. I was waiting until wedding was over so I didn't need time off anymore. Now I can be free of EVIL Hollywood Video. Tis most evil indeed. Stupid corporate-think I cannot stand.
And no, I wasn't all that drunk during the wedding or the reception, sadly. But I was very drunk the night before, as I was getting my mother and all my aunts drunk, to help them calm down, after they discovered that apparently they flew out here not to be guests at my sister's wedding, but were instead supposed to be slave labor to help prepare for the reception. They didn't fly out to scrub *toilets* while the groom's family stood around and *supervised*. That was the least of that family's tacky behavior btw. I had to calm them through that. And I had to calm the bride. And I had to calm my hotel-roommates, who were spazzing over everything. And I was fucking bloody sober the whole time. But I held it together, and am quite pleased with myself.
I did find out the family is actually quite religious, in addition to being quite sexist but that's another story. Anybody ever hear of Job's Daughter's? It's some ladies auxilary type charitable Christian women sort of group. Brainwashing young ladies for generations. Well they belong to that. I also determined that a lot of that family's rudeness is simply related to the fact that though they are white trash, they do not realize it, and so think they are actually behaving with perfect decorum. Except of course, that the wedding they planned didn't follow any of Miss Manners most favorite rules. (As in, people fucking stand up when the bride comes down the aisle. Or, a host is supposed to be try to make people comfortable, not use tem for labor and then ignore them and exclude them from standard wedding events).
It almost makes one want to get married in order to show them how it should be done. Not that I will, in fact my sister threw the bouquet right at me and I stepped back and let it land in the mud. :) Rene frowns in disapproval, I know.
Ren's wedding will be so much cooler. Mirena as maid of honor, Deniau as best man. Ben as ring bearer...tres awesome. And in a church of course, Rene will not have a civil ceremony. It's before God or no one.
And Suzette...Suzette will cry pretty tears.
heh heh
